Documentary Auteurs

The score of this piece is familiar to me. I wouldn't be surprised if my Dad watched the civil war Documentary. he is a big American History buff. The music score that comes from Ken Burns Civil War Documentary is very familiar.

ALSO I Just realised that the Ken Burns Effect, which is a tool on iMovie is named after this guy. I didn't realise the impact this director had on the movie industry. You know your going places when a camera action or an effect is named as official technique.

Micheal Moore I am familiar with. My Dad likes watching Micheal Moore so I have seen a little bit of his work. He does take digs at American political decisions and ideals.

Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004) | MovieRob

We watched 45 minutes of this Documentary and off the bat you can tell that Micheal Moore is very Subjective in his work. He "tells us" which side he supports without telling us. he talks about Al Gore losing Florida and the Presidential race as a dream, a bad dream. In the opening credits he plays sad music over important people getting makeup put on their faces preparing for the post 9/11 announcements. they seem almost happy, not sad and distraught.

The Up series sounds like a cool idea. It sounds like an alternative way of keeping a journal, but you have an entire film crew with you. I do wonder what the side effect are when a person is documented in such a way.
