When layering sounds, you can use other sources to really pump up the sounds. For example, pulling rope you can use sounds such as rubber-bands stretching, floors creaking, that sort of thing.
We looked at examples from:

Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Our first assignment will be making a soundscape in premiere.
We have been given a select amount of sounds to use to make said soundscape.
