Deliberately Creative

Why what i'm doing is Critical to keeping me focused and thoughtful about my creative endeavor.

Currently I am researching thoroughly for this project. Trying to break down the examples of work that I find so that I can accurately produce an answer to my research Question.

Examples that I have done are:
  • I watch Rod Serling Monologues to find out how he moves, walks and talks.
  • I look up facts about the Twilight Zone and websites and YouTube Video's.
  • I go back onto Papers that I have found Prior to this particular project. To get more information on what I need. (Literature Review)
  • I listen to a monologue compilation every Research class, so I can Learn about Rod Serlings Mannerisms.
  • I've looked up some video's of people replicating the twilight zone (parody)
  • I've listened to Interviews of Rod Serling out of the Twilight Zone to  understand who he is a s a human being.
  • I've bought a suit which is visually similar to that of what Rod Serling Wears.
  • I've Talked with people about grabbing an old fashioned TV.
  • I've looked up tutorials on how to use programs that I haven't used before.

In a way, some of my research is like a basic version of method acting. I"m trying to learn how to act Rod Serling to fully get what I want for my research project.
Even something along the line of researching for parody while still paying homage to the original work is something that I am doing.

Rod Serling Himself has been noted to look for inspirations: The episodes "Time Enough at Last" which was considered one of the the best Twilight Zone was inspired by a short story by Lyn Venable. But he is also known to get inspiration from personal experiences. Especially Traumatic ones. (He suffered from PTSD from World War 2 and also had to experience the immediate death of His father soon after.) He would work for 12 hours a day.
